This brace breathes extremely well while in use in both hot or cold conditions (such as in a freezer, or a dry side at work). The circle portion where your knee rests has some sort of soft material that is added protection from your daily use. It holds very good for a larger person leg/knee, it also has rubber gripping to help with the brace sliding up or down. Overall this has been the best brace I have found for a bum knee. *I was sent this item for a honest review.
